THE DEAL

To enter the competition, your bar needs to complete an entry form for every cocktail submitted, and fulfil the competition requirements:

PART A (75%):
  • Create an original cocktail recipe using at least one De Kuyper Product. All other spirits and liqueurs in the recipe should be drawn from the Hancocks portfolio
  • Provide a photo of this cocktail
  • List the cocktail in your bar from the time of submission or at least for the month of June 2012 (if you are a Hancocks customer, contact your Account Manager for POS support)
  • A minimum of 6 bottles of De Kuyper 700ml must be purchased by your bar during June 2012
PART B (25%):

Provide an answer to the following:
De Kuyper will contribute NZ$1,000 towards hosting a party. Describe your event if your bar was a regional winner and won an opportunity to host a De Kuyper party.

All entries must be received by Friday 25th May 2012 and may be sent via:

  • online entry form;
  • email to: info@dekuyper.co.nz;
  • by post to: De Kuyper Masters of Mixology Competition, PO Box 47-191, Ponsonby, Auckland; or
  • handed into your Hancocks Account Manager
MASTERS OF MIXOLOGY FINALISTS

The top bar from each of the 3 regions will be announced on Tuesday 3rd July 2012. Each finalist bar will win the right to host a Masters of Mixology Party in conjunction with De Kuyper. De Kuyper will contribute $1,000 towards the party.

Event Judging: Cocktails (75%) and Event Creativity (25%) Finalist bar requirements:
  • to produce five cocktails using De Kuyper products that will be served at the De Kuyper party;
  • list one of these cocktails on the cocktail list for one month; and
  • host a De Kuyper Masters of Mixology Party, as outlined in the answer to Part B of the entry form, by Sunday 26th August 2012

OVERALL GRAND PRIZE

From the 3 finalist bars, the De Kuyper Masters of Mixology crown will be awarded to the top venue for 2012. The winning bar will be announced by Friday 31st August 2012.

The Grand Prize for the winning bar will be a three day/two night trip for three team members to attend the 2012 Sydney BarShow. This includes flights leaving on Sunday 23rd September 2012 and returning on Tuesday 25th September 2012, accommodation, entry into the bar show and NZ$300 spending money per person.


KEY POINTS
  • It is a bar "team" entry and only one team per bar
  • The more cocktails are entered, the more chances your bar has of winning
